You Belong to Me (1962)

King/Price/Stewart

"Just remember when you're home again, you belong to me. "

The song is so visual and covers so much geographic ground: pyramids, jungles Algiers. Makes me think of Amelia Earheart, still out there, somewhere. Someone's doing a lot of traveling.

CHORUS

See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sun rise on a tropic isle
Just remember, darling, all the while
You belong to me.

See the marketplace in old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
But remember when a dream appears
You belong to me.

I’ll be so alone without you
Maybe you’ll be lonesome too---and blue

Fly the ocean in a silver plane
Watch the jungle when it’s wet with rain
Just remember till you’re home again
You belong to me
