Dreamboat Russ Columbo, who probably would have surpassed Bing Crosby in popularity had he not died (in a freak antique shotgun accident) in the early 30s, introduced this standard. He co-wrote the lyrics for this song. A piano player I used to work with told me once "You can't come to Manhattan if you don't know 'All of Me'." I agree.
VERSE
You took my kisses and you took my love
You taught me how to care.
Am I to be just a remnant of a one-sided love affair?
All you took I gladly gave,
There's nothing left for me to save
CHORUS
All of me, why not take all of me?
Can't you see I'm no good without you?
Take these arms, I want to lose them
Take these lips, I'll never use them
Your good-bye left me with eyes that cry
How can I go on, dear, without you?
You took the part that once was my heart, so
Why not take all of me?
SINATRA'S END
I said, you took the best, so come on,
why not take all the rest
why not take all of me?
